After learning how to take studio lighting pictures without a studio I got so creative! I took some camera gear home and started taking SQIBB pictures of everything! It honestly blows my mind that this can happen in a room full of light. Practicing in class helped me perfect my settings and flash but it was my photos from after class that were my favorite. I like shooting objects more than models. I need to find the balance between defusing the light and having strong shadows on a model’s face. I used a black t-shirt to get the base a solid color and then by moving the light in all 3 of my pictures it created new moods and shadows on the object. The last picture is my set-up for the Lady Liberty photo. You can see I am in a well-lit kitchen and used a speed flash held by my brother to create the entire black background seen in the photo.
